Experience the magical beauty of North Sikkim with a 2-day journey to Lachen and Lachung, two charming Himalayan villages surrounded by snow peaks, waterfalls, and pristine valleys. Your adventure begins from Gangtok, driving through scenic mountain roads, rivers, and forests to reach the peaceful village of Lachen. From here, travelers visit the breathtaking high-altitude lake Gurudongmar Lake, one of the highest lakes in the world, known for its crystal-clear waters and spiritual significance. The journey continues to the beautiful valley town of Lachung. Surrounded by snow-covered mountains, Lachung is the gateway to the famous Yumthang Valley, often called the “Valley of Flowers of Sikkim.” In spring, the valley blooms with colorful rhododendrons, creating a dreamlike Himalayan landscape.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Gangtok to Lachen (Enroute Sightseeing)

  • After having a heathy breakfast drive to Lachen in an executive vehicle by surface.

  • On the way do not miss Seven Sister Waterfall and Singhik View Point. Lunch at local restaurant on the way.

  • Reach Lachen by afternoon and complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. Enjoy overnight stay in Lachen.

Day 2: Lachen to Gurudongmar Lake (Extra Cost for Kalapathar & Chopta Valley) & back to Lachung

  • Start your day with the appetite breakfast at the hotel and drive towards legendary Gurudongmar Lake considered to be most sacred lake in North Sikkim. Please note that only Indian Nationals can visit this lake, so if you are accompanied by any foreigner friend you need to intimate us in advance.

  • The lake is situated at the highest altitude of the North Sikkim and hence its high altitude may cause the breathing problem. Be prepared and do not exert.

  • After paying visit to lake come back to the hotel, take refreshment and leave for Lachung. Overnight stay at Lachung hotel.

Day 3: Lachung to Yumthang Valley (Extra for Zero Point & Katao) & back to Gangtok

  • After taking breakfast at the hotel proceed for an excursion to Yumthang valley – the ultimate valley of flowers in North Sikkim (Alt 11,800 ft).

  • On the way back to hotel do not forget to visit hot spring – the crystal water in it said to have some medicinal trait. Optional tour to Yumesamdong Valley or Zero Point & Mt. Katao close to Tibet Border (Alt 15,000 ft, 23 Kms from Yumthang) for Indian tourists only can be arranged (at extra cost and prior notice).

  • Reach hotel and check out & leave for Gangtok.
